Faria Nasruddin is an independent research consultant focusing on regional security, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding in the Middle East, as well as women's leadership and gender norm change. Her work has been featured in the Georgetown Journal for International Affairs, More to Her Story, as well as various think tank publications.
Faria previously served as a program associate at the Wilson Center's Middle East Program, where she led the Middle East Women's Initiative. In this role, she was responsible for steering the initiative's research and programming, as well as its strategic development. She was the managing editor of the flagship publication, Enheduanna: The Voices of Women from the Middle East, and was responsible for growing its network of contributors, readership, and impact. She was also a research consultant for the London-based think tank ODI, where she produced a report and a series of case studies on gender norm change and broadcast media.
In addition to her research and analysis, Faria has extensive experience in convening high-level diplomatic engagements. She is the coordinator of the Middle East Track II Dialogues Initiative, in which she works alongside the principals to develop and execute non-governmental conflict resolution discussions. She has also served as a director at the U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council, where she successfully led a U.S. trade mission to the U.A.E., and as lead program and events manager at the Middle East Institute, where she coordinated over 200 public and private policy roundtables, panels, and conferences.
Faria holds an A.M. in Middle Eastern Studies from Harvard University and an A.B. in history from Bowdoin College. She is fluent in Portuguese, proficient in Arabic, and is currently learning French. Faria was chosen to be part of the 2025 NextGen Cohort for Foreign Policy for America and is a member of a number of professional associations, including the Women's Foreign Policy Group and the Young Professionals in Foreign Policy Group.
